"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this --- and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven --- ㅡ Malachi 3:10
"만군의 여호와가 이르노라 너희의 온전한 십일조를 창고에 들여 나의 집에 양식이 있게 하고 그것으로 나를 시험하여 내가 하늘 문을 열고 너희에게 복을 쌓을 곳이 없도록 붓지 아니하나 보라." (말 3:10)
This is one of the more well known verses in the book of Malachi. It seems to offer a simple formula to receive God's blessings. Give to God, and he will give back even more. But people who care only about material blessings are going to be disappointed.
이 구절은 말라기서에서 아주 잘 알려진 말씀 중 하나입니다. 이 말씀은 마치 하나님의 복을 받는 간단한 공식을 제공하는 듯이 보입니다. 하나님께 드려라, 그리하면 하나님이 더 많은 것으로 돌려주실 것이다. 그러나 물질적인 복에만 관심을 두는 사람들은 실망하게 될 것입니다.
What God is really saying is that if his children are in a good relationship with him, he will bless them abundantly. In my personal experience that has not meant riches or perfect health. But I've found that when my relationship with God is close, two things happen.
하나님 말씀의 진의는 자신의 자녀들이 하나님과 좋은 관계에 있으면 그들을 넘치도록 축복할 것이라는 것입니다. 나의 개인적인 경험에 비추어 볼 때, 그 말씀은 부나 완뱍한 건강을 의미하지 않습니다. 그러나 하나님과의 관계가 친밀해질 때, 두 가지 일이 일어나는 것을 나는 발견했습니다.
First, I'm quicker to notice the types of blessings God promises. I notice that my efforts are more productive with fewer things going wrong. This is a real material blessing. Second, my expectations in life become more reasonable, resulting in more contentment with less stuff. Often that contentment comes through the humble realization that in most of the world people would call me blessed with riches. This is a spiritual blessing.
첫째, 하나님게께서 약속하시는 복의 유형을 나는 더 빨리 알 수 있습니다. 잘못된 일은 줄어들고 나의 노력은 생산성이 더욱 높아지는 것을 나는 감지하게 되었습니다. 이것은 진정한 물질적 복입니다. 둘째, 삶에 대한 나의 기대가 보다 합리적이 되어, 적은 것을 가지고도 더 많은 만족감을 갖게 됩니다. 대부분의 세상에서 사람들이 나를 부로 복받은 자라고 부르는 것을 겸손히 깨달을 때 종종 그러한 만족이 옵니다. 이것이 영적인 복입니다.
Both the material and spiritual blessings come through first drawing closer to God. God is not interested in religious formulas that appear to coerce him into blessing us. Instead, God wants a relationship in which he can be our loving, generous Father. Do you have that kind of relationship with God?
물질적인 복과 영적인 복은 먼저 하나님께 가까이 나아가는 일을 통해 옵니다. 하나님은 우리에게 복 주기 위해 강요할 것으로 보이는 종교적 공식에는 관심이 없으십니다. 그보다, 하나님은 우리의 사랑하시는 관대한 아버지가 되는 우리와의 관계를 더 원하십니다. 여러분은 하나님과 그러한 관계를 맺고 계십니까?

Father, thank you for putting our relationship first. Help us to give with the right motives and appreciate you over all the blessings you provide. Amen.
아버지, 우리와의 관계를 최우선으로 두심에 감사드립니다. 올바른 동기로 드리며, 주신 모든 복에 감사드릴 수 있게 우리를 도우소서. 아멘.
