Then those who feared the Lord talked with each other, and the Lord listened and heard --- "On the day when I act, "says the Lord Almighty, "they will be my treasured possession." ㅡ Malachi 3:16-17

"그 때에 여호와를 경외하는 자들이 피차에 말하매 여호와께서 그것을 분명히 들으시고 --- 만군의 여호와가 이르노라, "내가 나의 정한 날에 그들로 나의 특별한 소유를 삼을 것이요"(말라기 3:16-17) 

Throughout the book of Malachi we have been reading about one insult against God after another. For some people this disrespect was deep in their hearts. But for others the respect came out of a distance from God that they didn't really want. This latter group finally become convicted of their sins and turned back to God. And in an amazing display of grace, God accepted them back.

말라기서를 통해서, 우리는 하나님께 대하여 계속되어온 모욕에 관해 읽어왔습니다. 어떤 이들에게 이 불경스러움은 그들 마음 속 깊이 존재하고 있습니다. 그러나 다른 이들에게 그 불경스러움은 자신들이 정말로 원하지도 않는 하나님과의 거리감에서 왔습니다. 이 두번 째 무리는 마침내 그들의 죄에 대하여 가책을 느껴 하나님께로 돌아왔습니다. 그리고 놀라운 은혜로 하나님은 그들을 다시 용납하셨습니다.   

Then God went a step further. He not only accepted those who turned back to him; he showed them the mercy a good father show to his children.

그 후, 하나님은 한 걸음 더 나아가셨습니다. 하나님은 그에게 돌아온 사람들을 용납하실 뿐 아니라, 좋은 아버지가 자녀에게 보여주는 자비까지 보여 주셨습니다. 

God's treatment of the forgiven as treasured children is shown completely when, with his own son, Jesus, on the cross, the Father accepts the perfect sacrifice of his one Son to cover the sins of all his adopted children. Truly our Father in heaven loves and values us far more than we can ask or imagine!

소중한 자녀로 용서받은 자에 대한 하나님의 처우는 이 때에 완전히 보여집니다. 그 때는 하나님께서 모든 그의 양자들의 죄를 덮는 온전한 희생으로 독생자를 용납하실 바로 그 때입니다. 진실로 우리 하나님께서는 우리의 구하는 것이나 상상에 훨씬 지나도록 우리를사랑하시며 소중히 여기십니다.  

If you are feeling far from God, or if you know or suspect that you have been disrespectful to him, ask for his forgiveness. Ask him  

to bring you close, that you may know his grace and mercy in powerful ways.

여러분이 하나님으로부터 멀어졌다고 느끼거나, 그에게 불경했다는 것을 알거나 혹 의심이 든다면, 그의 용서를 구하십시오. 여러분을 가까이 이끌어달라 구하십시오. 그러면 여러분은 그의 은혜와 자비를 강하게 깨달을 것입니다.

If you have never known his love, ask God to overcome your heart with his mercy and grace today.

만약 여러분이 그의 사랑을 전혀 알지 못하고 있었다면, 오늘 그의 자비와 은혜로 여러분의 마음을 다스려 달라고 하나님께 구하십시오.

PRAY (기도)

Dear Father, you proved your love for us through the gift of your Son and secured us in grace forever. By your Spirit, move us to love you and live faithfully always. Amen.

존귀하신 아버지, 주는 주의 아들을 주심으로 우리에게 주의 사랑을 입증하셨으며 영원히 은혜 가운데 우리를 지키셨습니다. 주의 성령으로, 감동하사 주를 사랑하며 언제나 신실하게 살게 하옵소서. 아멘.
